The Junior Eight Summit 2008 Chitose-Shikotsuko was held in July on the shore of Lake Shikotsu in Hokkaido. Young people aged 13 to 17 from 15 countries around the world earnestly discussed global issues based on their own viewpoints, and the outcome from the meetings was proposed to the G8 leaders.
