Privacy Policy
  1. Basic Premise
    The Public Relations Office, Minister's Secretariat, Cabinet Office, Government of Japan collects information from everyone using the Japanese Government Internet TV (hereinafter referred to as "the Site") for the purpose of ensuring the smooth operation of the Site's services (such as information provision and the solicitation of comments on public relations). Information acquired will be handled appropriately within the scope of the purposes of use.
  2. Scope of Information Acquisition
    (1) We automatically collect and store Internet domain names, IP addresses, and information about access to the Site. We use a cookie (information transmitted from the server to the user's browser and stored on the user's computer in order for the server to identify users).
    (2) At the "Comments and Requests" corner, we ask you to submit your comments and requests only.
  3. Purposes of Use
    (1) The information acquired in 2. (1) will be used as a reference to ensure the smooth operation of the Site's services.
    (2) The comments and requests collected in 2. (2) will be used as a reference for the operation of the Site.
  4. Limitations on Use and Provision of Information
    At the Office, except in cases of legal disclosure requests, cases of illegal access, threats and other unlawful acts or other special reasons, the information acquired will not be used by ourselves for any purposes other than those described in Section 3, nor will it be provided to any third party. However, statistical information regarding access to the Site or information on users' attributes may be made public.
  5. Measures to Ensure Security
    This Office is taking all necessary measures to manage acquired information appropriately and to prevent the leakage, loss, or destruction of acquired information.
  6. Disclosure of Personal Information
    We do not collect names, birth dates, or other information able to identify individuals on the Site. Therefore, we cannot respond to requests for disclosure of personal information about contributors to the "Comment and Request" section of the site.
  7. Scope of Application
    This privacy policy applies only to the Site. Regarding the handling of privacy information by any other ministries, agencies, etc., those respective organizations are considered to be responsible.

The Office takes reasonable measures to ensure the accuracy of information available on this site. However, the Office makes no guarantees and assumes no responsibility for consequences, including damages, arising out of or in connection with the use of any information published on this site. The Office also assumes no responsibility for damages arising from downtime of this site caused by maintenance or acts of god such as fire, power failure, natural disasters, computer viruses, or sabotage by any malicious outsiders.
