The Fourth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD IV)

TICAD IV, the Fourth Tokyo International Conference on African Development, was held in Yokohama from May 28th to May 30th. The TICAD conferences focusing on African development have been held since 1993 co-organized with international bodies, including the UN Development Programme and the World Bank. With more than 3,000 participants, it resulted in an international conference of a size unprecedented in the history of Japan's diplomacy.
