The G8 Science and Technology Ministers' Meeting

The first G8 Science and Technology Ministers' Meeting was held in Okinawa on June 15, 2008. Attending were the G8 ministers, ministers and senior officials from seven other countries, and the European Commissioner responsible for science and technology. The meeting underscored that science and technology is the key for continuing world development and reaffirmed the importance of the enhancement of science and technology cooperation on a global scale.
