Their Majesties The Emperor and The Empress-Official Duties at the Imperial Palace

His Majesty the Emperor performs those acts in matters of state which are provided for in the Constitution on the advice and approval of the Cabinet, such as appointing the Prime Minister as designated by the Diet and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court as designated by the Cabinet, and so on. In relation to the performance of matters of state, Their Majesties host various ceremonies, audiences, teas, Court Luncheons and State Banquets held at the Imperial Palace. This video presents a compendium of ceremonies and events staged within the Imperial Palace, from amongst the official duties of Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress.
